We needed coffee and the old reliable Safeway at Marina beckoned. I knew this Safeway as the one to stop at when driving in from the Golden Gate Bridge of pick up any kind of picnic supplies to take to Golden Gate Park. My husband knew it as the neighborhood Safeway he and his buddies frequented after high school for snacks! We both remembered a large, free parking lot with a bay view, so we headed on over. I had heard about the smash and grab thievery going on in the city, but was still surprised by the lock on the coffee shelves. We dithered around, then noticed the sign saying to ring for service. After I rang, a kind staff member immediately appeared and unlocked the array of Peet's coffee. As I got in line to check out, I noticed aisles of locked up goods. Good for security, but a hassle for the customers.

The Marina Safeway in San Francisco is always been the place to pick up drink and food when you are around the Marina Green , Crissy Field, or Fort Mason for that indoor or outdoor occasion. It is also well known for the place to go to for a liquor run. This Safeway has always been a dependable place to grab a cold one or just get something to drink straight up or mixed. They also have a good produce department with a deli and seafood department with the seafood experts. Aisles of drinks and food. A good place to pick up some loose ends. 2024 is almost over so grab the champagne Then grab some food to pair the wine with before hitting the grocery checkout lane

This a well placed Safeway being right along the Bay. It's a bit unique given it's easy parking, and being within walking distance of the Bay which allows it to serve both locals and visitors. If visiting SF don't forget to sign up for a Safeway Card this will provide discounts making your vacation dollars go further. The store has a generous mix of adult beverages, a nice deli, and a produce department with a varied assortment of fruits and vegetables. For locals it has a nice meat / seafood counter, and though not the Largest Safeway it's shelves are well stocked. Plus it does have a nice Floral / Plant selection. For me it's a great Safeway to access when wanting to avoid location markups, or to pick something up at when passing through.
